KIDNEY FUNCTION & DISORDERS "He, who knows how to listen, hears wisdom.
No one should have to suffer with chronic urinary tract infections so we want to go into some depth regarding the causes and how to prevent the conditions. The kidneys perform the task of filtering blood. Unfiltered blood flows from the heart to the kidneys in the renal arteries and filtered blood flows out via the renal veins. Waste materials and excess fluids (urine) are temporarily stored in the kidneys then moves on to the bladder and ultimately eliminated from the body. As body cells consume nutrients and energy, chemical waste products begin to build up in the liver and through the body. These waste products, some of which could be toxic, must be removed. The tissue of the kidneys is composed of microscopic filtering units that perform this function. Bacterial infections can affect the kidneys and any part of the Urinary Tract with women having more infections than men. Pyelonephritis is an infection of the Kidneys. For Bladder and Prostate problems see our web pages for those conditions. Antibiotics are the treatment of choice. Prevention includes practicing good personal hygiene in the urinary and digestive tract area and drinking plenty of fluids. Also, cotton underwear is preferred over synthetic fiber since the synthetics tend to trap moisture. Moisture promotes bacterial growth and leads to more frequent infections. Kidney cancer symptoms may include pain on one side of the back, blood in the urine, a mass in the abdomen or on your side, high blood pressure and fever. Others experience loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, constipation, weakness and fatigue. Treatment options include surgery, radiation, therapy, chemotherapy or hormone therapy. Kidney cancer strikes men twice as often as women. It is most prevalent between the ages of 50 and 70. A Kidney Cyst is a common and usually benign lesion on the kidney. They are hollow and round and contain a watery fluid. About half the people over age 50 in America have at least one kidney cyst. There are usually no symptoms but can sometimes cause blood in the urine, back pain or abdominal pain. You may not even know you have one unless it gets infected or is discovered by a routine ultrasound or CT scan. Large ones can impair kidney function. Antibiotics are a common treatment and large cysts may be deflated by puncturing with a needle. Kidney failure is the inability of the kidneys to perform their normal function of filtering waste products from the blood. It can be caused by infection, injury, exposure to toxins, kidney disease and other diseases such as diabetes, systemic lupus erythematosus or sickle cell anemia. Acute kidney failure is life threatening and involves hospitalization until the condition can be remedied. Chronic kidney failure requires dialysis or a kidney transplant for survival. Polycystic kidney is a genetic disorder characterized by the growth of multiple, fluid filled cysts in the kidneys. They crowd out much of the kidney tissue and reduce the kidneys capacity to filter waste out of the blood. The condition can lead to kidney failure. We have a certain responsibility to keep our bodies in good health,

Drinking Kombucha on a regular basis also may very well be the most important thing you can do to regain and maintain good health. Obviously, maintaining healthy kidneys and a healthy urinary tract is critical to good health and quality of life. So what is it about "fermented tea" that makes it so effective in preventing and relieving urinary tract disorders?
Kombu. . what, you might ask. It wasn't until 1993 that Kombucha was introduced to the American public. Today, over 3,000,000 Americans drink Kombucha on a regular basis. One might think of Kombucha as a microbiological digestive aid. The tea is the biological equivalent of STP gas treatment, carburetor cleaner and radiator flush all rolled into one. It works at the cellular and molecular level pulling toxins and waste materials out. Glucuronic acid (GA) then binds the material in the liver which are is then eliminated via your urine. Material bound by GA cannot be reabsorbed by the intestines or the urinary system. This detoxification and flushing promotes a healthier bladder, kidneys, liver and pancreas. Dr. Valentin Kohler in 1961 in a magazine wrote an article "Glucurinic Acid gives cancer patients hope. His cancer patients had encouraging results with glucuronic acid increasing their physical resistance to cancer and possibly boosting interferon production. Glucuronic Acid in Kombucha tea is formed during the fermentation process. The usnic acid, also produced by the fermentation process, has antibiotic properties and may also prevent tumors from growing. Properly fermented tea is also the same pH as the stomach fluids are supposed to be. It therefore helps balance stomach juices so they are not too acidic or too alkaline. This should also relieve digestive conditions such as heartburn, nausea, indigestion etc.
Medicine cures three tenths, diet cures seven tenths.
