OSTEOPOROSIS "He, who knows how to listen, hears wisdom.
Osteoporosis is a bone disease that mainly affects postmenopausal women. The bones gradually lose protein structure and mineral content and gradually start to deteriorate. It is the most common metabolic bone disease in the United States. Normally there is a renewal cycle whereby new bone is being formed to replace bone breaking down. With osteoporosis, the breakdown occurs faster than the renewal cycle resulting in a loss of bone density and bone tissue that is thin, brittle, porous and more prone to fracture. The most common fractures involve the spine, hip and wrist bones. Although all of the causes of osteoporosis are not known, aging and loss of estrogen at menopause seem to be the most common. Radiation therapy and removal of the ovaries make a woman more susceptible to osteoporosis. Contributing factors include: a small body frame, alcohol abuse, cigarette smoking, a family history of the disease plus inadequate dietary intake of calcium and protein. Young women who excessively exercise are more prone to contract the disease at an earlier age. Some medical conditions may make a person more prone to osteoporosis such as: Hyperthyroidism, Cushing disease, chronic liver disease, hormonal disorders and intestinal disorders such as malabsorption. In men, alcoholism and decline in the male hormone testosterone can cause the disease. Treatment may include estrogen, alendronate and calcitonin. Being stupid, isn't not knowing much, nor is it not wanting to know much.
Natural progesterone cream has proven very effective in increasing bone density. Avoid progestin products which are chemically altered or synthetic forms of progesterone.
Medicine cures three tenths, diet cures seven tenths.
According to a Dr. Price in the early part of the 20th century, the absence of "Activator X" in our food leads to tooth decay, osteoporosis and spontaneous bone fractures. This X-factor helps increase the absorption and utilization of the fat-soluble vitamins necessary to maintain bone health. Thru 10 years of research he determined the X- factor is most abundant in fresh eggs, organ meats, cod liver oil and in the butter made during the spring and fall from cows grazing on fast-growing grass. If the butter is pasteurized is heat (and all commercial butter is) the X-factor is destroyed.
Our NATURAL & ALTERNATIVE HEALING RESOURCE DIRECTORY provides information on great products and where to buy them that specifically target many of the conditions that affect "modern man" today. Drinking Kombucha on a regular basis also may very well be the most important thing you can do to regain and maintain good health.
Kombu. . what, you might ask. It wasn't until 1993 that Kombucha was introduced to the American public. Today, over 3,000,000 Americans drink Kombucha on a regular basis. Kombucha seems to be the biological equivalent of STP gas treatment, carburetor cleaner and radiator flush all rolled into one. It works at the cellular and molecular level pulling toxins out. Glucuronic acid (GA) then binds toxins in the liver which are then eliminated via your urine. Toxins bound by GA cannot be reabsorbed by the intestines or the urinary system. This detoxification and flushing promotes a healthier bladder, liver and pancreas. Kombucha is a living tea containing friendly bacteria and beneficial yeasts (not to be confused with the candida variety). It is very beneficial in nourishing intestinal flora and keeping your digestive system in tip top shape and that is important in absorbing the vitamins and minerals essential to rebuilding bone mass. The fermentation process produces a variety of substances from acetylcholine, which benefits the body's nervous system to choline, which normalizes blood pressure and prevents hypertension. Since it aids healthy digestion, the nutrients in food and drink are more readily available for the rest of the body to utilize in performing the body's normal functions, hence more energy. If you keep your body and its systems in good working order you will have less reliance on prescription and OTC products which may alleviate one problem but cause other side effects. Kombucha sometimes enhances the effectiveness of other medications and it is important to keep your health provider informed so dosage can be adjusted if needed. Kombucha by itself
doesn't cure anything. It costs only about $5 a month since you brew the tea yourself. About 1 or 2 hours a month is needed for the brewing and cleanup. It's also simple. If you can bake a Duncan Hines cake then you too can be a Master Brewmeister. I grew up in Missouri and as Uncle Harry (Truman) would say, the buck stops here. If you are willing to put forth a little effort there is no reason for you to continue to suffer. I know it sounds too simple to be true so visit our Home page for the details of our SATISFACTION GUARANTEE.
